Pet Portrait Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How can I commission a pet portrait?
A: The easiest way is to send me an email with your request. It's always great to include a description or your pet which often helps capture the "spirit".
Q: When more is better...
A: Every great pet portrait starts with a great photo. I always ask clients to send their favorite images—ideally well-lit and high-resolution.
It also helps to include three or four additional photos to guide shading, color accuracy, and texture details.
Q: Are the portraits digital or hand-drawn?
A: Every portrait is created entirely by hand — no digital tools or AI. Each stroke is done with care to bring out your pet’s unique personality and details.
Q: Can you draw any type of pet?
A: Absolutely! Dogs, cats, birds, horses, rabbits — even reptiles or farm animals. If it has character, I can capture it.
Q: Can I see progress photos?
A: Definitely! I can share updates as I work so you can see your portrait come to life.
Q: What mediums do you use?
A: I use high-quality pastels or oil paints to ensure each custom pet portrait is vibrant and durable. Most of the pet portraits shown are made using soft pastels.
Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: Yes. Please email me to provide an accurate quote.
Q: What if I need it by a certain date (like a gift)?
A: Just let me know your deadline when you order — I’ll do my best to accommodate rush requests whenever possible.
Q: What is your turnaround time?
A: Turnaround time varies, but typically takes 4-6 weeks to complete a portrait.
